Timer for Riverside.fm
Riverside.fm has no segment timer. Give your guest a live countdown.
The guest opens the stage link and sees a real, adjustable countdown for the current segment. The host runs the timer and private cues from a separate control link, alongside Riverside's own Studio.

RunCue
A segment countdown, not just a fixed pre-record cue.
RunCue works alongside Riverside.fm in a separate browser tab. It does not install as a Riverside integration or access your account, recording, or guest data.

Choose the setup that matches who needs to see and control the timer.
| Timer | Speaker visibility | Producer control | Cue context | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Riverside.fm pre-record countdown | A fixed 5-second countdown before recording starts; no countdown at all for live streams | A toggle on or off in Studio settings; nothing to run or adjust during the session | No cue notes; Producer Mode documents no timer or cue-sending capability | Giving everyone a moment to settle before the recording begins |
| RunCue browser room | Separate stage and audience links showing a live, adjustable segment countdown | Separate control link with private producer cues across segments, nothing to install | Cue cards for every segment plus Reset between takes | Riverside.fm sessions with a run of show and a guest who needs to see time remaining in the current segment |

FAQ
Using RunCue with Riverside.fm
Does Riverside.fm have a segment or pacing timer?
No. Riverside's Studio settings document only a fixed, toggleable 5-second countdown before recording starts, and its Producer Mode page (audio levels, guest/device management, chat, lower thirds, teleprompter) never lists a timer or cue-sending feature.
Can I add a countdown to a Riverside.fm live stream?
Not through Riverside itself. Its own live-stream FAQ answers this directly: "Can I turn on a countdown for my live stream? No, not yet."
Why use RunCue beside Riverside.fm?
Use RunCue when your guest needs to see a live, adjustable countdown for the segment you're actually recording, and the host wants private cue notes across multiple segments — independent of Riverside's fixed pre-record countdown.
Does RunCue connect to my Riverside.fm account?
No. RunCue runs in a separate browser tab and does not access your Riverside account, recording, or guest data.
Is there a trial?
Yes — and there's no rush to set it up. You get up to 7 days to build the run of show before any clock starts; the 15-minute live trial begins only once you press Start, and it includes the live timer, separate role links, cues, Reset, and segment editing before the room locks.
